Lampeter is a small town in South West Wales, positioned about halfway along the 46-mile road from Carmarthen to Aberystwyth. Its population is estimated to be around 3,000 people, although that goes up by about a 1,000 if you add university students staying in the town. It is the United Kingdom's smallest university town - although we don't consider it a true university place given the small number of students.
Lampeter is the base of the University of Wales, Trinity Saint David. The university has 6,145 students shared between its Lampeter and Carmarthen campuses, which are of a similar size. The university was created in 2010 through the merger of University of Wales Lampeter and Trinity University College Carmarthen. It has a low course satisfaction rating of 0.2 / 5.0.
